volunteering

Benefits of Volunteering:

Volunteers working at least 4 hours (2 shifts) can shop the Pre-Sale BEFORE the consignors and public. The more you work, the earlier you shop!

Consigning volunteers can also earn more percentages of thier sales!  Consignors working  a minimum of 8 hours can earn 75% of their total sales!

Spaces will book up quickly. It is a good idea to register for your preferred shifts early to ensure you get to work the shifts you want!

It is important for you to choose a shift that suits your needs and talents.  For example, expecting mothers or individuals with limited physical abilites should not choose Set Up or Pick up & Pack up shifts.

We do not have child care available so please make arrangements if you plan to volunteer.*

*Exception: If you are a nursing mom, you may have someone to bring your child to you and we will accommodate nursing/feeding breaks. If your caregiver brings your baby to nurse, simply let us know so we can back you up if necessary. We fully support nursing moms!

Shifts with more than one description indicates the various duties of that shift- not that one person will do it all.

Volunteer Job Descriptions:

Thursday Pre-Sale Shopping: Volunteers greet and assist shoppers; keep the sale floor organized; process items during check out; total cards using adding machine; sort consignor cards by number.

Sunday 1/2 Price Sale and Sorting: Volunteers greet and assist shoppers; keep the sale floor organized; process items during check out; total cards using adding machine; sort consignor cards by number. **Last shift on Sunday will begin sorting items by consignor number.  A great shift for consignors since you can take your items with you and not have to return on Monday during pick up.
Monday Pick up & Pack Up: Volunteers assist consignors locating their unsold items; break down sale by returning tables, racks, bins, etc. Another great shift for Dads or if you have "skill with a drill".

Sign and Flyer Distributor: Volunteers are responsible for placement of signs and flyers around Tipton and surrounding counties. We will need items distributed in Covington, Brighton and Munford/Atoka as well as in Millington, Ripley and Brownsville. Locations can include schools, daycare centers, offices, local businesses- just be sure to get permission before placing or leaving the signs or flyers. You will be required to provide Wee-One's with the location name, address and a contact in order to verify advertising placement.

The success of the sale depends on your participation- thank you for fulfilling your commitment!

Volunteer Policy:

In order to achieve and maintain a high quality event, we rely on a sufficient number of volunteer workers. Wee-Ones requires that volunteers fulfill their obligation to work the shifts they sign up for. All workers must be on time and work their entire shift (unless released early by Wee-Ones owner) to reap the benefits.

If you find it necessary to cancel a work shift or reschedule your shift, please do so as soon as possible. You can remove yourself from a work shift and/or sign up for a new shift by emailing weeonesconsignment@yahoo.com. If an emergency arises the day you are scheduled and you need to cancel your commitment with us, please let us know as soon as possible. Call 901-488-2583 ASAP.

Workers who do not follow through with their commitment will be banned from volunteering at future sales, which means no shopping at future Presale Events. If the worker who fails to show is a consignor, earnings of 35% will be received rather than the original 65%. If the worker is a non-consigning volunteer, participation in further sales will be banned. However,if you send a replacement, your privileges will stay intact. Extenuating circumstances may be considered (such as a death in the family) and the worker would be allowed to volunteer again, but the deduction still may be taken at the discretion of Wee-Ones management.

Please note that this policy has been created in order to maintain a high quality sale. We want to attract only those volunteers who are responsible and dependable. Please thoughtfully consider the commitment before sign up for a shift. Positions are limited, and you could be taking up a spot someone else would have gladly filled, but when you cancel at the last minute, we may not be able to find someone to fill your vacancy.
